CALLING ALL CENTRAL FLORIDA CAREGIVERS!

Please join us for the 2nd general meeting of Healthcare United Florida on Tuesday, June 24th.

Healthcare United is the new national movement of nurses and other healthcare workers uniting our voices to heal our broken healthcare system. Across the United States, we’re working to unite the millions of healthcare workers whose voices have been long ignored and give them the political power to change the system.

Our goal at Healthcare United is to be in every zip code, every swing district, and every battle ground state where there are healthcare workers just like you who are committed to fight for systematic reform, but who don’t know one another. Healthcare United Florida is here to introduce you to one another and to build our network at the grassroots, community, and facility level.

At our first meeting last month, healthcare workers from across the I-4 area came together and pledged to collect thousands of petitions urging Congress to stop the Bush Medicare/Medicaid cuts. We also started organizing local MeetUp events in the Orlando area in an effort to grow our network.

At our upcoming meeting on June 24th:

• we’ll begin to roll out our voter registration campaign
• we’ll continue our issues discussion in an effort to learn more about what you, the caregivers, face at the workplace daily
• we’ll continue to recruit new hosts for MeetUps so we can keep growing our strong network; and
• we’ll begin to organize our area committees (electoral committee, communications committee, voter registration committee, and outreach committee)
